Growing method is one of the biggest factors in how a batch of hemp flower actually turns out — and one of the least explained. Here's what genuinely changes between indoor, greenhouse and outdoor cultivation, and why we sell all three tiers rather than pretending everything is grown the same way.
Premium Indoor
Grown in a fully controlled environment from start to finish — consistent temperature, humidity and light cycles year-round, with no seasonal variation to work around. That control costs more to produce, but it means tighter batch-to-batch consistency: the same variety grown indoor twice should come out closer to identical than the same variety grown outdoor twice.
Premium Greenhouse
Natural sunlight with structural protection from weather extremes. It's a genuine middle ground — better consistency than full outdoor growing, lower production cost than full indoor. Natural UV exposure during greenhouse growing often produces strong terpene development, since terpene production responds to light spectrum and intensity in ways artificial lighting doesn't always replicate.
Glasshouse, Outdoor & Shake
Full or semi-outdoor cultivation, exposed to natural seasonal conditions. This is the most variable tier by nature — weather differs year to year, so consistency is harder to guarantee. But the right varieties grown outdoors can develop character that indoor growing doesn't always replicate, and it's the lowest-cost tier to produce, which shows in the price.
So what actually changes in the cup?
Three things vary most by growing method: terpene profile (aroma and flavour — greenhouse and outdoor growing under natural light often produce more complex terpene development), consistency (indoor wins here, batch to batch), and price (outdoor and greenhouse tiers are typically more accessible than indoor).
