CBD oils
Once opened, a CBD oil typically holds its potency well for around 12 months if stored properly — in a cool, dark place, cap tightened after each use to limit oxygen exposure. Light and heat are the main things that degrade an oil over time; oxidation from repeated air exposure is the other. A cloudy appearance or an "off" smell that wasn't there before are the practical signs a bottle has started to turn.
CBD gummies and edibles
Gummies and other edibles generally have a shorter effective shelf life once opened than oils — usually a few months for best quality, even before the printed best-before date, because they're food products with sugar and moisture content that can affect texture and freshness over time. Keep them in their original resealable packaging or an airtight container, away from heat and direct sunlight.
CBD capsules
Capsules are generally the most stable format once opened, since the cannabinoid content is sealed inside the capsule shell rather than exposed to air. Standard storage — cool, dry, out of direct light — should keep them at full quality for most of their printed shelf life.
